Carlos Karan Gurnani Serrano is a PhD student at DiSFeB.
He holds a Master Degree in Microbiology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain) in 2015.In 2016 he spent four months in the frame of an Erasmus-Traineeship programme at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands). Since 2017 he is a PhD Marie-Curie student, (ITN Train2Target, Lab Prof. A Polissi). His research focuses on envelope biogenesis in Gram-negative bacteria as a target for the development of new antibiotics.

Elisabete Moura is a PhD student at DiSFeB. She holds a Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences obtained at the Oporto University (Portugal), she spent four months at Utrecht University (The Netherlands) in the frame of Erasmus Programme and in 2017 she joined Prof. Polissi’s team to start a PhD. Her research focuses on the functional characterization of the bacterial lipopolysaccharide transport machinery and on setting up genetic screens to identify compounds inhibiting the assembly of this machinery.

Alessandra M. Martorana is a research collaborator at DiSFeB.
From 2006 to 2010 she carried her PhD in the laboratory of Prof. Dehò (Dip. Bioscienze), focusing her research on the expression of genes that are essential for bacteria viability. Since 2010 she is a post-doc researcher in the laboratory of Prof. Polissi where she is studying cell envelope biogenesis in Gram-negative bacteria.
